We validated Seaman Pro’s accuracy against LensHooke X1 Pro across 100 semen samples in a joint study with Northwell Health, one of the largest health systems in the US. The goal: confirm whether AI-assisted analysis can match manual and existing automated methods on the parameters that matter most clinically.

Concentration, total motility, and progressive motility met all acceptance criteria, with Passing-Bablok slopes of 0.99- 1.03, R2 of 0.91-0.93, and PPA/NPA of 0.91-1.00, demonstrating analytical equivalence to LensHooke X1 Pro on the core parameters clinicians rely on most. Bland-Altman analysis confirmed minimal systematic bias across concentration (-3.1%), motility (-1.8% to 8.2%), pH (-0.1%), and vitality (2.0%), all within clinically acceptable ranges. Semen pH and vitality showed strong proportional agreement but fell marginally short on select thresholds (pH R² of 0.89; vitality PPA of 0.73), promising given these capabilities don’t exist in current AI semen analyzers, but requiring further validation before full clinical claims. Morphology assessment did not meet acceptance criteria (R² = 0.12), consistent with a known industry-wide challenge: morphology remains largely manual and poorly standardized even across accredited centers.

This is the first step toward automating parameters no existing AI semen analyzer currently measures morphology and vitality, while confirming equivalence on the parameters clinics already trust automation for. In a separate comparative evaluation across all major AI-assisted semen analysis platforms, published in the World Men’s Health Journal, Seaman Pro was highlighted as a leading competitor for closing gaps in morphology and vitality assessment
relative to competing devices.
